I’m Joshua Donoghue, and I’ve been part of the staff here at King’s Leadership Academy
since September 2024. However, I was also a student here at King’s starting secondary
school in 2013 and leaving the Sixth form in 2020 having achieved so much throughout
these 7 years. As well as thriving academically, the school also allowed me the opportunity
to grow as a person by building the best foundations to allow me to succeed.
After leaving Sixth form I started my journey pursuing my passion for Sport and PE at
Liverpool John Moores University, where I studied Sport and Exercise Science. Going to
university and being able to earn a BSc in a subject I truly love is very special to me.
Therefore I hope to inspire as many of our students as possible to achieve their goals and
really portray our values in their everyday life.
I realised my passion for teaching and learning throughout my teenage years and early
adulthood. Since I volunteered in a local primary school teaching P.E to the pupils, where I
recognised my love for education, as I taught the importance of physical health and sport.
Likewise at Kings I helped coach and teach younger years whilst at the sixth form, ensuring
the values of integrity and respect, both key to sport.
Outside of school and work, I enjoy reading a wide range of genres, whether that is novels,
history or sports. Sports is obviously also a massive passion of mine, whether that is playing
badminton trying to best a friend, football at a weekend or in the gym after work. Lastly, I
also enjoy problem solving, a love I developed from an early age with maths. Here at Kings I
help tackle the problems students face everyday, and provide them with the support to work
hard within their studies. I am proud to be a part of this great school again and I hope to
empower individuals through the power of education for a long time to come.
Due to both my academic and sport background, my goal here at Kings is to become a
Maths and P.E teacher. In the classroom, I love engaging with students, helping them
discover their potential in both subjects. Whether it's breaking down complex mathematical
concepts or encouraging teamwork on the field, I strive to create an inclusive and dynamic
learning environment where every student can thrive.
