I am Miss Dearden, Head of Mathematics at King's Leadership Academy Warrington. I have been teaching maths for over a decade, I relish the fresh challenges and experiences each day brings with our fantastic students. I studied Economics at The University of Manchester, which allowed me to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills and completed my PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University.
I am passionate about curriculum design and firmly believe that the way mathematical concepts are taught can significantly impact student progress and engagement. By refining curriculum structures and exploring different teaching methods, I strive to create an enriching learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. For me, mathematics isn't just about certainty; it is a platform for problem-solving. I believe that mathematics is the foundation of innovative thinking and encourages students to be critical thinkers.
Beyond the classroom, you will find me knitting, crocheting, and whipping up sweet treats in the kitchen. I am an avid traveller and love to learn about different cultures, especially the food, and the world around us.
