"All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players"
(William Shakespeare's 'As you like it' spoken by Jaques)
I trained as an actress at the accredited conservatoire, Manchester School of Theatre and graduated with a BA hons in Acting. Throughout my time working in the performing arts industry I have been very fortunate to have acted across a broad range of performance platforms including - roles in Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, working with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford Upon Avon, performing on Shakespeare's Globe London, extensive work for BBC Radio 4 and playing the role of Juliet in an Italian touring production of Romeo and Juliet. I have loved every minute of it, and that is what drama is all about, enjoying yourself, expressing yourself and experiencing amazing opportunities.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience of the acting world with King's students and encouraging them to pursue an exciting performing arts adventure of their own.
I set up my own theatre company with 2 fellow actors a few years ago and delivered drama based workshops in Primary and Secondary schools across the country. Seeing how drama influenced and inspired young learners encouraged me to embark on a full time teaching career. Having worked previously at King's many years ago delivering Shakespeare masterclasses to all the fantastic students, King's was of course, the school top of my list to teach at full time.
All of us take the skills we gain from drama training and adapt them into our everyday lives. Communication, confidence and working with others are all undoubtedly fundamental skills that each of us need to call on throughout our lives in school, in the professional working world and even during our leisure time with family and friends.
I am extremely proud to be teaching drama at King's Leadership Academy, Warrington and very much look forward to seeing our aspiring actors and actresses of the future on the silver screen, stage and beyond!
